GLENVIEW, Ill. – Showing a commitment to improve public safety and stand up for working families, candidate for State Representative Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz, earned the endorsement
of the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois in the March 20th Democratic Primary.
“Fire fighters and paramedics put their lives on the line every day to protect our families and keep our communities safe and they deserve to have their interests protected in state
government,” Gong-Gershowitz said. “I’m proud that the Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois recognize my commitment to public safety and working families and I’m honored to have their
support and endorsement.”
The Associated Fire Fighters of Illinois is a leading labor organization representing 15,000 of the state’s fire fighters and paramedics. On behalf of their statewide membership, the group’s political action committee endorsed Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz for State Representative in the 17th District. Earlier this month, she also earned the endorsement of AFL-CIO and the Chicago Federation of Labor. Gong-Gershowitz has committed to fighting for workers’ rights to collectively bargain and protect pension benefits that fire fighters and other public employees have earned.
“Fire fighters perform an extremely dangerous job and they deserve to earn a living wage for the work that they do,” said Gong-Gershowitz. “I look forward to working with AFFI to make sure the state is providing necessary protections and benefits for all first responders and their family members.”
